Mount Everest (8,848m), the highest peak of the world has been a feature for appealing large number of tourist every year. An attempt to reach at the base of the top peak in the world will no doubt offer elating and fantastic experiences. Everest Base Camp trek, the most breathtaking mountain trail will in fact take us to the world famous Sherpa settlement. Plus, you will see the culture of bright prayer flags, the appealing Namche Bazaar, pass by the Sagarmatha National Park. Also, the most appealing part of the trek is reaching the highest view point- Kalapatthar lying at 5550m.
Everest Base Camp trek will begin with an exciting mountain flight to the Tenzing-Hillary airport at Lukla. You will the pass through the appealing Sherpa community Phakding and Namche Bazaar. Our path continues to make way up all the way passing through Tengboche, Pheriche, then to Gorakhshep and to end with reach Mt.Everest base camp. Subsequently, we will climb to Kalapatthar (Black Rock) which is incredible view spot and the keep on walking to descend to Lukla and take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu.
Without doubt, Everest Base Camp climb is intended to everyone from proficient climber to an inexpert adventure enthusiast. You will be stunned with the super vistas of Nuptse, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and numerous other snow-topped peaks of Everest area.
Day 1 | Arrival in Kathmandu

Sightseeing in Kathmandu and preparing for the trekking. |
Day 3 | Kathmandu-Lukla (40min flight)- Phakding; 3-4
hrs trek (Trekking time only; stops not included)
Early morning flight to Lukla (2,800m/9186ft)/ treks starts/ pass Chaurikharka village/ make a descent towards the Dudhkoshi Ghat (2,530m/8300ft)/ the trail follows the bank of Dudhkoshi River until Phakding (2652m/8700ft)/ overnight. |
Day 4 | Phakding-Namche Bazaar; 5-6 hrs
Trail crosses Dudhkoshi River over a long suspension bridge/ then leads you along the river to Hilary’s Suspension Bridge/ trail climbs further to Namche Bazaar/ overnight. |
Day 5 | Namche Bazaar; Rest day
Rest day taken for acclimatization/ day hikes/ Thame and Khunde possible/ overnight. |
Day 6 | Namche Bazaar- Tsyangboche: 6-7 hrs
Climb up to Tsyangboche airstrip/ just over the airstrip is the Everest View Hotel/ a Japanese scheme to build/ deluxe hotel with great views of the Himalayas/ trail descends slightly to Dudhkoshi at 3250m/ steep ascent to Tengboche Gompa/ stunning background of Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest and other peaks/ overnight. |
Day 7 | Tengboche-Dingboche: 5-6 hrs
Slight descent early through lush forest/ gradual climb up to the valleys highest year around settlement of Pangboche (3860m/12664ft)/ continue ascending in the afternoon through alpine meadows and yak herds/ eventually reaching Dingboche/ overnight. |
Day 8 | Dingboche: Rest day
The second rest day is taken for the acclimatization at Dingboche/ side-trips planned from Dingboche, or you can rest. The side trip winds up the valley to Chhukung for sensational views/ overnight. |
Day 9 | Dingboche-Lobuche: 5-6 hrs
Today is climb to Duglha (4620m/15,158ft)/ stunning views of Tawachee and Cholatse (6440m)/ trail goes up to Khumbu Glacier for an hour then left into the memorial area/ before reaching the village of Lobuche (4930m/12,894ft)/ by this stage the effects of the altitude will be kicking in and you can expect colder nights. |
Day 10 | Lobuche- Everest Base Camp- Gorakhshep
5-6hrs
The trail continues climb to Gorakh shep/ then to the Everest Base Camp (5357m/17575ft)/ rocky and glacial trails where climbers gather for summiting Everest/ trek back/ overnight Gorakh Shep (5160m/16929ft). |
Day 11 | Gorakh Shep- Kalapatthar-Lobuche 5-6hrs
Early morning hike to Kalapatthar/takes a couple of hours to walk up to famous viewing point of Kalapatthar (Black Rock) 5,545m/18192ft; small peak/ best views of Mt.Everest, Pumori and Ama Dablam without climbing/ return to Lobuche (4930m/12894ft)/ overnight at Lobuche. |
Day 12 | Lobuche- Pangboche; 5-6 hrs
The trek traces halfway back/ lunch at Pheriche/ up trek ends at Pangboche (3860m/12664ft)/ on the bank of Imja Khola. |
Day 13 | Pangboche- Namche Bazaar; 5-6hrs
Trail retraces back/ stopping at Tengboche/ during the November-December full moon/ colorful Mani Rimdu festival held here/ much singing and dancing/ overnight in Namche Bazaar (3,400m/11286ft) |
Day 14 | Namche Bazaar- Phakding; 5-6hrs
Today the trail steeply descends to the Hillary Suspension Bridge/ continues on an easy natural trail/ back to Lukla (2,800m/ 9186ft)/ relax at leisure. |
Day 15 | Lukla- Kathmandu
Early morning flight to Kathmandu/ pick up/ transfer to hotel. |
Day 16 | Transfer to airport/ fly to your next destination. |
